SOTNICK
- KIRK SOLD
‘Best
striker in League 2’: Clare is ready to fill void Andy Kirk has left Boston United. The
Northern Ireland international agreed personal terms with Northampton
Town today and has joined for a six figure sum, believed to be not a penny
more than £125,000, well below most valuations of him. 'What the hell?' Kirk said. 'Northampton's an even worse place to live than Boston. Boston has a certain degree of charm. I've been sent packing to Leningrad. It progresses my career by, ooooh, piss all. 'I wanted to stay at Boston to be honest, at least until Leicester bought me for £300,000 in August, but Sotnick knocked me out, forged my signature on the contract and had me shipped out to the dreary retail complex at Sixfields by mid-day.' John Sotnick, chairman, told impsTALK: ‘Yes, the boy’s gone. We’ve sold Kirk so we can keep David Noble. We’ve turned down nine £15m bids for him just this afternoon. There’s certainly no financial pressure to sell David, although maybe that was in my dreams.’ Sotnick dismissed speculation Noble would be gone by deadline day. ‘It wouldn’t do me any good to let Noble go at this point because the moment HM Customs and Excise see we have no viable, sellable assets, we're gone.' |
